Sensitizer , referred to as a diazo sensitizer is a chemical additive used to activate photo emulsion, making it reactive to ultraviolet (UV) light.

When mixed with an un-sensitized base emulsion, it allows you to expose and burn detailed designs onto your screen mesh.

Pure photo emulsion base is not light-sensitive on its own and has a long shelf life. Adding the sensitizer transforms it into a light-reactive liquid.
